A new organic restaurant has opened in the inner west.

The culinary gods have heard our requests, and yum cha is now available in Leichhardt. Oriental House, a Chinese restaurant that debuted just two weeks ago, shatters the Norton Street norm of Italian eateries.Kelly Zheng and her chef husband Rocky Guan saw that there was no 'real' Chinese cuisine in the neighbourhood and thought that the residents of Leichhardt deserved a treat.

Organic food

Organic farming is the practise of growing food without the use of synthetic chemicals or genetically engineered ingredients. Organic foods are not necessarily chemical-free; however pesticide residues will be substantially lower than on produce grown with synthetic pesticides.Choose organic foods that are labelled "certified organic" by one of the organisations approved by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry.Organic agriculture is more environmentally friendly and sustainable.

Regarding organic food

Organic farmers and food producers cultivate and produce food without the use of synthetic chemicals such as pesticides and synthetic fertilisers. They do not utilise genetically modified (GM) ingredients or irradiate food.Organic producers place a premium on animal welfare and environmental sustainability. Animal products can also be classified as organic. Organic eggs, for example, come from free-range chickens rather than caged (battery) hens.Fruit and vegetables, dry legumes, grains, meat and meat products, dairy foods, eggs, honey, and certain processed foods are examples of organic goods accessible in Australia.

Natural farming

Organically bred animals are handled with kindness and consideration. For instance, poultry are allowed to roam freely and are not confined in cages, and cows are not kept in feed lots. In addition, no growth-regulating medicines, steroids, hormones, or antibiotics are administered to the animals. Vaccines may be administered to animals to prevent illness.Organic farming is also concerned with maintaining the environment and operating in harmony with existing ecosystems, as demonstrated by the conservation of water, soil, and energy, as well as the use of renewable resources and natural agricultural cycles.Traditional agricultural techniques, such as crop rotation to reduce soil nutrient depletion and crop-livestock integration, are frequently employed.

Organic food is becoming more popular.

The organic food business in Australia is thriving. The expected retail value of the organic market in 2021 is at least $2.3 billion. Australia has had a compound annual growth rate of 13% since 2012, with a 38% increase in certified organic enterprises since 2011.The annual growth rate of organic food demand is between 20 and 30 percent. It is believed that more than six out of ten Australian families occasionally purchase organic goods. Fruits and vegetables, meat, non-alcoholic beverages, nuts, and ready-to-eat snacks are popular goods.

Reasons to Choose Organic Food

Most people buy organic food because they are concerned about pesticides, additives, antibiotics, and other chemical residues, and they feel organic food is healthier.Concerns about the impact of conventional farming on biodiversity and the environment, as well as the ethical treatment of cattle, are among the other factors.

Organic food's nutrient value

Several studies have been conducted to assess the nutritional content of organic and conventionally cultivated plants, and the majority of them have revealed no significant variations in critical vitamin and mineral content. Although the changes are minor, research has revealed that certain organic foods contain:

reduced nitrate levels

increased vitamin C levels

increased amounts of some minerals (such as phosphorous, magnesium and iron).

Biodynamic style food

Biodynamic farming is an organic agricultural method pioneered by Austrian philosopher Rudolf Steiner. It employs conventional agricultural practises with specified preparations while emphasising ecological harmony and environmental sustainability.Biodynamic food is cultivated using certain composts, preparations, and natural activators.Biodynamic foods are covered by national organic certification in Australia.

Organic gardening

Many individuals are embracing a sustainable lifestyle by growing their own fruit, raising backyard hens, or putting up a beehive to create their own honey, in addition to purchasing organic food products. If you like to consume organic food, you can consider starting an edible garden. Everyone may benefit from organic gardening, which includes:raises physical activity levels, decreases stress, is affordable and helps you save money, has a smaller environmental effect - minimises food packaging and waste, uses
